Your Voice in Parliament

Nate Erskine-Smith is the Liberal Member of Parliament for Beaches—East York, elected three times since 2015. He has a track record of effective advocacy, doing politics differently, and strong grassroots organizing.

As an MP, he has helped shape the government's agenda to build much-needed housing stock, save lives in the opioid crisis, support low-income workers by enhancing the Canada Workers Benefit, protect kids' privacy online, take stronger climate action, and deliver increased funding for pediatric cancer research.

This January, Nate was appointed Minister of Housing, Infrastructure, and Communities. During his tenure, he's been focussed on driving down the costs of home-building by cutting red tape, treating housing as a home first and an investment second, and delivering federal support to double social and community housing across the country.

Raised by retired public school teachers in Toronto's east end, his involvement in politics started during the Harris years when he actively supported his parents on picket lines. As a student, Nate earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Juris Doctorate from Queen's University, along with a Master of Laws from Oxford, specializing in constitutional law. He represented both universities as a baseball player.

He then honed his skills in commercial litigation, gaining valuable experience that would later serve him well in navigating the complex world of policymaking. He continues to live in Toronto's east end with his wife, a respected chef and nutrition professor and their two young boys.

Remembering Reese Fallon

Reese Fallon

Reese Fallon was a bright young woman whose life was tragically cut short in the Danforth shooting. As a vibrant member of our community and the Young Liberals, Reese's legacy lives on through the memories shared by her loved ones and the scholarships established in her honor.

"Reese was smart, caring, funny, passionate, and she was out to the make the world a better place. She is sorely missed by so many, and while there are no words to adequately convey the deep sense of loss felt across our community, in memory of Reese we've shared messages from her loved ones."
